Salt Dough Craft has become very popular art nowadays. It is very simple but requires attention and here are some tips that you can keep in mind while you are performing your project:
* If you aren’t managing to use the dough instantly, it can be stored in the fridge, in an airtight container or cling film, for up to a week.

* If the dough is too dry simply wet your hands and continue kneading. If it too moist, just dust your kneading surface with equal amounts of flour and salt until the dough has firmed up.
To improve the elasticity of the dough, add dry wallpaper paste to the basic mixture.

* Small items may indeed be baked in that short of time while larger pieces will need more time in the oven. Check the dough every 10 minutes.

* Air-drying is suitable for flat, small pieces or for colored pieces where baking will alter the color of the finished project.

* While baking if any air bubbles appear pierce the bubbles with a pin and gently depress the dough. If the dough starts to darken before cooking is complete cover with a piece of aluminum foil.

* Add color to the dough, here are some methods of coloring:
- Food coloring (red, green, blue, or yellow). Two or more food colors can be combined to make different colors and shades or for a marbled dough effect.
- Add cocoa powder or instant coffee for different hues of brown.
- Add spices that act as natural dyes e.g. cinnamon, curry powder, saffron or paprika
- Alternatively, you can simply paint the finished baked dough with acrylic paint.

* Your finished projects can be left unpainted but they must be sealed on all sides (including underneath) with varnish, gloss or matt, for protection otherwise they will not last long when exposed to air.you can see Salt Dough Tips and coloring video at askthecrafter.com
